STEM CLUB

Term 3  – Mondays

Commencing Monday 25th July, 3.45pm to 4.30pm and running for seven weeks.

 STEM Club is where each week students will participate in science experiments, learn to code and fly drones, explore coding and robotics and improve their maths skills with mind-bending tricks!

Registration is essential and participation is limited to 12 students only.

 

 

 

 

Rookies Chess Club

NUMBER NINJAS

Term 3 – Tuesdays

Commencing Tuesday 26th July, 3.45pm to 4.30pm and running for seven weeks.

“Just learn your times tables”… might be easy for some, but not for all students!

Number Ninjas is designed for students in Year 4 and 5 who are struggling with Maths. It is an after-school program at our  learning hub at the Hooper Centre.

Limited to only eight students and running for seven weeks it is designed to be fun and engaging, with games and challenges.

Registration is essential.

 

 

HOMEWORK CLUB

Term 3  – Wednesdays

Commencing Wednesday 27th July, 3.45pm to 4.30pm and running for seven weeks.

Led by a fully qualified teacher, our Homework Club offers a small group tutoring experience for students needing assistance to achieve their academic potential.

Homework Club will offer participants support with:
* Literacy skills
* Numeracy and Mathematics
* Other subjects where applicable

Homework Club is suitable for students in years 3 to 8, however, may be suitable for children outside this age bracket. Please contact Ted Carter via ted@ascendlearning.com.au for further information. Registration is essential.

ROOKIES CHESS CLUB

Term 3  – Thursdays

Commencing Thursday 28th July, 3.45pm to 4.30pm and running for seven weeks.

From Rookies to Royalty!

Learn the FUNdamentals of chess with Ted Carter and our team of emerging chess coaches.

Ted is a qualified teacher and a chess coach at St Mary’s School, The Glennie School, Fairholme College and St Ursula’s College.

This is a seven week course for students to be held after school at our learning hub at the Hooper Centre, Toowoomba. We’ll explore chess rules (especially the tricky ones), strategies, history of the game and the life lessons taught through chess.

Registration is essential and participation is limited to 12 students only.   

 

Rookies Chess Club

CHESS & STEM FOR HOMESCHOOLING FAMILIES

Term 3  – Fridays

Commencing Friday 28th July, 10.45am to 12.45pm and running for seven weeks.

Each week students will learn, play and compete in chess, developing strategy, critical and creative thinking.

Additionally they will participate in exciting science experiments, explore coding skills and improve mathematics skills with mind-bending tricks! Registration is essential.
