CHESS ACADEMY AT GLENNIE
Term 2, 2024
CHESS ACADEMY is designed for Glennie Junior Years students to learn, play and improve their chess, and offers participants an opportunity to represent Glennie at regional chess competitions.
Suitable for Glennie School Students only in grades 1 – 6.
DAY: Tuesdays from 23rd April
TIME: 3.45-4.30pm
WHERE: The Glennie Junior Years Campus
COST: $105.60 for 8 week term
Chess Academy is limited to 20 students only.

ROOKIES CHESS CLUB
Term 2, 2024
Our ROOKIES Chess Club is designed for NEW and DEVELOPING students of chess.
The purpose of ROOKIES is to set students on the right path of learning, playing and appreciating chess. Many students lack a comprehensive introduction to chess and therefore do not understand the fundamental rules or develop poor habits. This may be easily avoided with correct coaching and an emphasis on proper etiquette as well as good sportsmanship.
DAY: Mondays from 22nd April
TIME: 3.45-5.00pm
WHERE: Ascend Learning
COST: $132/for an 8 week term (plus a one-off recommended purchase of a text resource of $20 – more information in the registration form)

KNIGHTS CHESS CLUB
Term 2, 2024
Our KNIGHTS Chess Club is designed for EXPERIENCED students of chess.
The purpose of KNIGHTS is to provide supervised games and competition to advance students’ skills. Prior knowledge of chess fundamentals is required. Coaching is provided to teach tactical and strategic skills.
Through chess, participants develop concentration skills, enhance their problem solving and creative thinking, as well as life lessons, such as consequences for their poor and/or positive decisions.
DAY: Thursdays from 2nd May
TIME: 3.45-5.30pm
WHERE: Ascend Learning
COST: $145.20/for an 8 week term

ATAR PREP & STEP UP! TO HIGH SCHOOL
Term 2, 2024
Our ATAR Prep program is designed to assist our students approaching years 11 & 12, to help demystify the ATAR process, and leave them better placed to actually ENJOY their last two years at school!
Our STEP UP! program is designed to help equip your student for the changes that come with the transition to highschool. Topics include study habits, schedule management, mental health as well as tips and tricks to get the most out of their high school experience.
